Taking the Holy Spirit out of the equation for a second, you are sincere in your message, and that shows well to the audience. Add in the Holy Spirit guiding you, and well, you have a winner, folks.

A though popped in my head as you were speaking about your wedding. Community is an area of life where joy really shines through. It may not seem quite as apparent in the moment, but when I am with my family, and we have wonderful time - that is God's gift of a foretaste of heaven. When a wedding, graduation or holiday is celebrated with a group of people and there is connection, I have learned to see it as God showing us how life will be. The same holds true with good food in a group. Table fellowship is Biblical- why did Jesus have so many moments around food, including the Last Supper?

The only caveat is not to celebrate the food for the foods sake, which is where Thanksgiving gets off the track. It is sharing the table with others.

It also occurs when one-on-one connection is made, with the greatest moment being when you meet "that someone" and you know you will marry that person. It can also occur when a friend goes to that next level and becomes a confidante. The word intimacy carries too much of a sensual connotation in our society - but at its core, it is the vulnerable relationship where we feel God's presence.

It also happens in prayer. You probably have them too - those moments which are described as "Ah ha" moments or as Wesley put it so well, your heart is strangely warmed. Again, God is showing us an all too fleeting taste of Heaven.

And it makes me want more.

Sorry for jumping off on a tangentProfessor RJ Gumbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07011963901601606924noreply@blogger.com
