Michael McDonald - when he was with the Doobie Brothers, was worth listening to. When he went solo or tried to do Motown, well, he was just a salt and pepper Michael Bolton.
Scott, you have the highest amount of laugh out loud comments.
I dunno, "Takin it to the streets" is rough for me. McDonald just is always red-lining it if you know what I mean, always going all out, its just annoying.
My spouse and I think that sometimes Michael McDonald at his worst sounds like Peter Boyle as the monster in "Young Frankenstein" ("SUBER DUBER"). But even if you grant our point on the title track on "Takin' It To The Streets", the rest of the album was pretty solid.
Geez, why am I wasting so many words defending this guy, when I largely agree with you.
